Peter Swanson sailed the waters of New England for the first 30 years of his life, then headed south. He divides his time between marine journalism, freelance marine marketing and vessel deliveries. During four years as communications director for a trawler yacht manufacturer, he delivered company boats up and down the East Coast and, in one case, from Florida to San Diego, a 4,500-mile trip. He participated in the Red Sea-Suez leg of the Nordhavn Round-the-World voyage and Bermuda-Azores leg of the Nordhavn Transatlantic Rally. While working for the trawler company, he also trained bareboat charter guests in vessel handling techniques and on-board systems. Earlier in his charter career he skippered 60-foot tourist catamarans in the Dominican Republic and was responsible for maintenance and repairs of the fleet. Swanson lives aboard Rio, his Morgan Out Island 41, based on the East Coast of the United States.

Barry Terry’s boating life began in his early teens, first as a hobby racing ‘round the cans in the cold waters of the Solent in the United Kingdom. He has crossed the Atlantic at the helm of his 34-foot sailboat, worked as delivery captain (in both Europe and down island), as a charter skipper and now owns and operates his own deep sea fishing company in the Dominican Republic. Whether at the helm of a sailboat or a sportsfisherman or a motor yacht, he has made scores of passages from Florida to the Caribbean islands and back. While working for the Sun Sail charter company, Terry hosted his most prominent charter guests—Ozzie Osborne and family. (Ask him about it over a beer some time.) Before becoming a professional mariner, Terry served in the British Army and in British law enforcement.

The Caribbean Deliveries difference? FLAT RATE PRICING
We know the waters from Florida to the Caribbean Islands as well as anyone, so we can confidently predict based on the characteristics of your boat and seasonal weather patterns, how long a trip is likely to take. We estimate an arrival date and quote you a price. That is all you pay even if weather or other circumstances postpone our arrival by several days. We are handy with engines and systems and quite capable of making minor repairs under way to achieve our ETA. In the event of a major mechanical failure, forcing an extended lay-over, we will renegotiate terms with the owner to resume the delivery and get a vessel to its destination as soon as possible.
